Donald G. Shipshock Obituary
Donald G. Shipshock, of Lisbon passed away unexpectedly and entered into eternal life on August 31, 2026, at the age of 83 years. Don was born on September 21, 1942, to John and Lucille (née Weyek) Shipshock. On June 29, 1968, he married the love of his life, Susan Schmitt, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Don enjoyed his career as a Tool and Die Machinist.
He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially deer hunting in Rusk County, fishing, and boating. Don could often be found tinkering in his yard, riding his tractor, or re-engineering projects in his own creative way — always, in his words, to "make it stronger.". Don lovingly known as "Mr. Fix-It," was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors. Known for his quick wit and ever-present sense of humor, Don had a special gift for making any situation more enjoyable and bringing smiles to those around him. He enjoyed traveling to Door County, throughout the states visiting National Parks, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Canadian Rockies. Don proudly served in the United States Army Reserves. He will be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit. Above all, Don's greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Don will be dearly missed by his wife, Susan Shipshock; son, Michael (Beverly) Shipshock; daughter, Karen (Jason) Zielinski; grandchildren, Macy Zielinski and Zach Zielinski; and sister-in-law, Mary (Dr. William) Gahl. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Shipshock; and sister, Geraldine Shipshock.
The visitation for Don will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 1200 Saint Gabriel Way, Hubertus, WI from 10:00 AM to 11:45AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12 Noon at the church. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Hubert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight or to the Make a Wish Foundation are appreciated.
