William R. Mattson Obituary
Bill, of Hubertus, entered his eternal home in heaven on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the age of 68. Born October 26, 1957, to Leslie and Evelyn (nee Corrette) Mattson, he went on to Dunwoody Industrial College after high school for auto mechanic. On June 9, 1979, Bill married Deborah Corda. They moved from Upper Michigan to Wisconsin to start their new life together. He went on to earn many awards and certifications with Stark Oldsmobile. His most prized achievements are his 25 years of ASE certifications, of which he was ranked as one of the top auto techs in the nation. He was a jack-of-all-trades, including semi-truck and forklift maintenance, and even built his own garage to hold all his tools to work on his many home projects.
Bill was a longtime active member of Crown of Life Lutheran Church. He was very proud to have participated in the expansion of both the church and school. There were many committee, projects and maintenance roles at the church where he was happy to lend his expertise. During their time there, the church has grown 10-fold, and he was always proud to say he was a part of that. Bill enjoyed renovating cars, a dependable mechanic with a generous heart; he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Watching NASCAR, hunting, fishing, and birdwatching were some of his favorite hobbies. Bill treasured time with his family and friends; his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Deborah "Deb" Mattson; children, Jennifer (Ben) Herther, Staci (John) Field, and Kevin Mattson; grandchildren, Esther and Daniel Herther, and Rylie Field; "mom", Edith Corda; sisters, Sue (Gene) Rudolph, Sandy Mattson, and Sheryl (Ray) Lindstrom; dear aunt, Darlene (Paul) Kyto; brother-at-heart, Al (Amy) Webber. Bill is further survived by his nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Bill will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 3:30 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 5:00 PM with fellowship to follow until 6:30 pm at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 1292 Tally Ho Trail, Hubertus, WI. Bill's family requests that you bring a written memory and a favorite photo to share with them.
