She was predeceased by: her husband Harvey Nelson; her daughter Karin Nelson; her parents, Vincent and Josephine; her stepfather Carl Norrander; her siblings, Janet Thorson and John McLouth; and her brothers-in-law, Lowell Thorson and Robert Schoen.
She is survived by: her children, Jean, Harvey, Robert Nelson (Kathy), Betty Wendorff (Dale), Jeffrey Nelson (Jeanette) and Timothy Nelson (Cindy); her grandchildren, Jesse, Corey, Jason, Katie, Bobbi, Justin, Laura, Carl, Kelley and Renée; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn of Bryer, C. J., Adaline, Caius and Harrison; her great great grandchild Boe; her sisters, Janie Schoen and Kathryn Roisum (Lowell); and her sister-in-law Donna McLouth.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bethel Lutheran Church - Highlands Campus (504 Frontage Rd, Hudson, WI 54016). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Lutheran Church – Highlands Campus (504 Frontage Rd, Hudson, WI 54016). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Union Cemetery (2505 Minnehaha Ave E, Maplewood, MN 55119).
In honor of Jean's love for her community, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Hudson Food Cupboard (https://hudsonfoodcupboard.org) or Moments Hospice.
