He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Ingvald Aune and Blanche Aune (Boucher); his parents-in-law, Phyllis Starbeck (Mattson) and Arthur Starbeck; his siblings, June Hedin (Bob), Twila Martin (Don), Mary Allen (James) and Thor Aune; and his siblings' children, Kimberley Allen Tisdale and Douglas Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Audrey Aune (Starbeck); his children, Eric Aune, Pam Schmidt (Allen) of Waconia, MN, Susan Pederson (Daren) of Hammond, WI and David Aune (Katie Mahoney) of Spooner, WI; his sisters, Bernise Geifer (William) and Arlis Johnson; his sister-in-law Karen Aune; his grandchildren, Erica Spurrell (Nate), Bryan Haugerud (Kiersten Severude), Kaitlynne Haugerud, Natalie Haugerud, Jackson Pederson, Nicolas Pederson, Makayla Aune and Tyler Aune; and his great grandchildren, Ethan Hochstetler, Connor Hochstetler, Michael Hochstetler, Carter Hochstetler, Isabella Hochstetler, Elizabeth Spurrell, Jonathan Spurrell and Emma Spurrell. He is also survived by great-grandson as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.
