He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar and Vera; his siblings, Erwina, John, Ethel, Mary and Norman; and his son David.

He is survived by : his wife Colleen; his brother Jerry; his children, Julie Taylor (Randy), Rose Austad (Dave), Vincent (Karissa), Michael (Tammy) and Matthew (Angie); his grandchildren, Nate, Kate (Ethan), Rachel, Lucy (Travis), Mary, Kyra, Maddy, Anne, John, Ellie, Hannah, Evie and Finn; and his great grandchildren, Ciaran, Mac and Vera.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Children's Tumor Foundation.
