He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Koval and Angeline Koval (Kokott); his siblings, Alosie Koval, Clarence Kowhal, Laurine Koval, Marian Karash and Leona Slaby; his siblings-in-law, Andrew Slaby, Ralph Wiersgalla, Vincent Karasch, La Verne Hertzfeldt, Eugene Hertzfeldt, Gus Klimek, Leora Kowhal, Theresa Hertzfeldt and Agnes Hertzfeldt; and his great grandchild Kora Koval.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Hertzfeldt; his children, Keith Koval (Joan) of Arcadia, Kevin Koval (Sandra) of Independence, Karen Tomter (Jon) of Onalaska, Ken Koval (Rhonda) of Independence, Kathy Brenny (Jeff) of Whitehall, Kraig Koval of Independence and Kris Crebo (Jeff) of Holmen; and his sister Angeline Klimek. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
