He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhart Stern and Dora Stern (Marks); his stepmothers, Evie and Norma; his parents-in-law, Clarence Kratzke and Dora Popke; his stepfather Cleland Popke; his siblings, Gerald Stern, Glenna Sipe (Don), Jean Yost (James), Marian Kamba (Bob) and Glen Marks; his sisters-in-law, Yvonne Daberkow and Karen Kratzke; his granddaughter Jennifer Hoier; his nephews, Daniel Sipe and Larry Kamba; and his niece Paula Yost.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Kratzke; his children, Kenneth Stern (Shelly), Peggy Theama (Thomas), Sue Borrelli (Chuck) and Kelly Hancock; his grandchildren, Jessica Hoier (William Mattern), Rose Marie Lapp (Adam Schamber), Brooke Theama (Spencer Bowman), Jesse Theama, Sheena Martens, Jessica Adams (Max), Kyle Borrelli (Angelina), Kayleigh Osmundsen (Erik), Dakota Hancock and Marshall Hancock; and his siblings-in-law, Frances Stern, Cheryl Krause (Kenneth), Faye Marks and Harold Daberkow. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
