He was predeceased by : his parents, Merle Hanson and Elizabeth Hanson (Capelle); and his siblings, Calvin Hanson and Juliette Branks (Joseph). He is survived by : his nephews, Tony Lukas (Nancy), Michael Hanson (Holly), Todd Hanson (Maureen) and Andrew Hanson (Amanda); his niece Heidi Lukas (Charlie Grode); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nate Lukas (Amanda), Adam Lukas, Jack Hanson, Luke Hanson, Sophia Hanson, Laura Hanson, Abigail Hanson, Eleanor Hanson, Matthew Hanson and Andrew "Junior" Hanson.

Memorials are preferred to Chicago Architecture Foundation.
