He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ross and Grayce L. Briggs (Nott); and his brothers, Bruce and Charles. He is survived by: his girlfriend Dorothy Hazeltine; his children, John Briggs, Jr. (Kathy), Nancy Briggs (Tim), Mary Story (Aaron) and Debora Schieve (Larry); and his grandchildren, Alonna, Jim, Tyler, Brianna and Brett. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
