With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary A. Smith of Janesville, Wisconsin, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 28, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Burns and Clara Burns (Bayliss); and her brother Edward Burns. She is survived by: her husband Lester Smith; her family Mary; her children, Laura Spangler (Doug) of Columbia City, IN, Scott Swieca of Janesville, WI, Russ Wiese (Chris) of Wisconsin Dells, WI and Kerri Roller (Gary) of Eagle, WI; her stepdaughters, Lynette Backenger (Nick) of Beloit, WI and Lisa Smith of Janesville, WI; her grandchildren, Aaron, Seth, Kaleigh, Christine, Tyler, Ciara, Mackenzie, Josh and Zach; her brother Robert Burns (Fran); her nephew Keith Burns; and her close friend Belle Hayes. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
After COVID, and the numerous shutdowns throughout the State, Mary and Les began making day trips about once a week.
