He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Freiwald and Bertha Freiwald (Penzhorn); his brother Edward; his nieces and nephews, Helen, Craig and Dean Knudtson; August, Hilda Linse, June Knudtson (Richard), Patricia Linse and Robert Linse.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Freiwald; his children, David Freiwald (Elisabeth Steele), Carolyn Freiwald (Matthew Gallo) and Paul Freiwald (Madeleine Pham); his sister-in-law Margie Freiwald; his granddaughters, Leah and Erika; Roger Linse (Rita), Betty Schmidt, Mary Linse and Judy Linse (Mark Minor). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
