It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Schmitz of Janesville, Wisconsin, born in Madison, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 29, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Adelbert Schmitz and Bonnie Annen Schmitz; his stepdaughter Kathy Haag; his grandson Remi Hodson; his siblings-in-law, Anita Schmitz and Russell Trainor; and his nephew Randy Trainor.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his stepchildren, Scott Tilley, Tammy Ryan, Terry Murphy, Dana Hodson and Carmen Smith; and his siblings, Joann Trainor, Gary Schmitz and Gordy Schmitz (Patricia). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and a plethora of nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19, a restricted visitation was held on June 1, 2020 for immediate family.
