He was predeceased by: his brother Donald. He is survived by: his wife Janis Dietrich; his sister Marilyn Zimmermann; his children, Jennifer Hurley (Brian) and Thomas Reck (Kari Opichka); his grandchildren, Jonathan Hurley and Nicole Abendroth (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Ben and Lily Abendroth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Shriners Children's Chicago, First Lutheran Church of Janesville or the Golden "K" Kiwanis Club of Janesville.
