He was predeceased by: his parents, John Astell and Mary Astell; and his brother Paul. He is survived by: his wife Debby; his children, Max (Jess Nimm), Molly Astell (Eddie Owens) and Faith Jenson (Adam); his siblings, Anna Astell, Mary Zore (Rich), Barbara Nelson (Tom), Faith Albert (Roger), John Astell, Bill Astell (Cindy Tesch), Ben Franklin and Luke Astell (Stephanie); and his cousin Lynn Borgstrom (Steve).
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jim’s memory may direct donations to the youth program at Express Bike Shop in St. Paul or Friends of California Condors Wild and Free.
