He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Nelson and Irene Nelson (Gename); and his children, Fred Nelson, Donald Nelson and Tamara Thering.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Nelson of Rome; and his children, David Nelson (Michelle) of Murfreesboro, TN, Alan Calhoun (Michelle) of Chandler, AZ, Robert Nelson (Terry) of Jefferson and Terra Calhoun of Milwaukee. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home (221 S Center Ave, Jefferson, WI 53549). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dick's name to Resurrection Church in Fort Atkinson, Rainbow Hospice, or the Rome Fire Department.
