He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon McDaniel and Elvira McDaniel (Van Lannen); his daughters, Mary and Maureen; his grandsons, Roger and Patrick; his great grandchild Jimmy; his siblings, Vic, Mary, Joan, Margaret and Jane (Howard); and his parents-in-law, Ed and Helen Matchett.
He is survived by: his wife Betty McDaniel; his children, Jamie, Chuck (Cammie), Sara (Mike), Dennis (Susann) and Brendon (Jeanne); his son-in-law Roger (Elaine); his grandchildren, Dan (Ginger), Liz (Tyler), Stephanie (Kris), Mickala, Megan (Dijon), Marissa (Andy), Max (Quinn), Bailey (Megan), Brynn, Ahleah and Nakitah (Steve); his great grandchildren, Morgan, Lydia, Brooklyn, Addison, Jameson, Landen and Kiera; his great great grandchild Everleigh; Pat Arnoldussen and Jim Matchett. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in James' name.
