He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Niesen and Adeline Niesen (Eiting); his stepmother Fran Niesen; his sisters, Kathy Neuman, Carol Mandel, Mary Jo Gellerman and Barbara Braun; John and Lillian Van Dyn Hoven.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Van Dyn Hoven; his son Cory Niesen (Emily) of Sobieski; his grandson Nathan; his sisters, Virginia Holbrook, Eileen Gossen (Pete) and Jodi Schott (Ken); his stepsister Judy Sommerfeld (Fred); his sister-in-law Nancy Mankovecky (Robert); and his pet Whitney. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He was a 30+ year volunteer with both the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Ducks Unlimited.
