He was predeceased by: his parents, Art Pennings and Rose Pennings (Hermsen); his brother Art Pennings; his grandson John Rohr Jr.; his sisters, Margaret Zornow, Rose Pennings, Clare Dercks, Ethel Niesz and Mildred Jansen; his brothers-in-law, Bill Zornow, Jack Niesz, Bob Jansen and Gene Dercks; and his former wife Margaret Pennings.
He is survived by: his wife Cassie; his children, Scott Pennings (Karen), Valerie (John Rohr), Pam Pennings and Kerry Pennings (Gerard); his siblings-in-law, Bill Martin (Barb), Joe Martin (Joanie), George Heider and Marilyn Pennings; his grandchildren, Jordan Pennings, Jenny Englebert (Kyle), Amber Searer (Ryan), Julia Pennings and Natalie Stoltz (Cody); and his great grandchildren, Caydon, Eli, Grayson Englebert, Aaliyah, Aubrey Searer and John Jr. Rohr. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
