With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nancy J. Schmechel of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 25, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Lange and Harriet Lange; her sister-in-law Mary Lange; and her siblings, Beverly Kolb (Loyd), Ray Schmechel (Marlene) and Bob Schmechel (Pat).
She is survived by: her husband Eugene C. Schmechel; her daughters, Lori VanEssen (Bob Howard), Lisa Zuleger and Lynn Schmechel; her grandchildren, James (Aleka), Cassandra (Chris), Weston (Mackenzie), Astina (Steve), Mykal (Aubrey), Payton and Chloey; her great grandchildren, Mya, Mikail, Anya, Eden, Vera, Kolby, Kase and Anna; her siblings, Dick Lange (Lucy), Gerald Lange, Pat Lamberg (Tom) and Carla Harris (Dean); her brothers-in-law, Roger Schmechel (Merideth) and Jeff Schmechel (Paula); Louie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Botanical Gardens, Green Bay Wisconsin, a beautiful place that reflects the life she so gracefully lived and at which she was a founding member.
