Urban C. Gerrits Obituary
We announce the death of Urban C. Gerrits (Kaukauna, Wisconsin), who passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 85. Urban will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Urban W. Gerrits and Selma A. Gerrits (Lau); his daughter Lisa Gerrits; his siblings, JoAnne Mueller, George Gerrits (Marian) and Jerome Gerrits; and his brothers-in-law, Richard DeGroot, Lee Mueller and Chauncey Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Gretchen Gerrits; his son Brian Gerrits (Peggy); his grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Lilly, Joe and Tim Gerrits; his sister Barbara DeGroot; and his sisters-in-law, Diane Muskevitch, Eileen Gerrits, Cleone Weyers (Paul) and Elda Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
Urb was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London and a volunteer to many, building a pier at the condos and maintaining the trail and pond, ringing the bells around Christmas for the Salvation Army, and proudly donating over 12 gallons of blood at the Community Blood Center in Appleton. It was most meaningful for him to be able to donate his pedi-paks for premature infants.
