He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nelson and Cecelia Nelson (Kirschbaum); his siblings, John Nelson, Thomas Nelson and Joyce DeBruin; his niece Bonnie Dimmer; and his siblings-in-law, Robert DeBruin, Nita Nelson and Betty Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Michael (Kelly) of Raleigh, Janet Pearson (Michael) of Kenosha and Carolyn Thomas (Kenneth) of Kenosha; his grandchildren, Cassandra Kuehn of Kenosha, WI, Alyssa McLean (Casey) of Newport and Ryan Thomas of Kenosha, WI; his great grandchildren, Lily and Noah of Newport, Maine.; his sister Joan "Patsy" Lester (Jeff) of Kenosha, WI; and his nephews, William and Terry Nelson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces.
