He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Franti; his daughter Amy Carlton (Sheldon); his granddaughters, Laney and Lexi; his siblings, Cheryl Novak, Noreen Wilkensen (Kevin), Scott Novak (Lorrie), Jim Novak (Trisha) and Lee Novak (Maria); his siblings-in-law, Annette Haapala (Ron) and Gordie Franti (Brenda); and his pet Harley. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

“As a former co-worker at SCJ w/ Mark, I would like his family to know that many people enjoyed his friendship very, very much. His retirement in 2013 was hard for me to adjust to, almost like losing a Father at work. He was a sensitive soul, and once I realized that, we became close friends. He adored his granddaughters more than words could express. I missed him sorely and wish we had stayed in touch. I hope to shake his hand again some sweet day in God's Presence. Russ/Jill Evans.”
