Richard E. Thomey Obituary
WAUWATOSA. Formerly of Kenosha. Born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Age 77. Beloved husband for 54 years of Patricia (nee Gollnick). Dear father of Courtney (Deborah) Thomey and Deirdre (Joe) Carlisle. Loving grandfather of Richard, Bronwyn, Max, Jordi and Mila. Dear brother of Anne Whiteside, Michael (Pam) Thomey and Kerry (Geri) Connelly. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his twin sons, Garrett and Bartley; his sister, Judy Schoor; and his parents, Richard and Eleanor Thomey.
Visitation Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa. Visitation continues on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 10:00am until Time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1300 73rd Street in Kenosha followed by Interment at St. James Cemetery, Kenosha.
Richard was born in Kenosha, WI on December 17th, 1946. He grew up on the south side of Kenosha where he attended St. Mark's Catholic and St. Joseph's High School. He proceeded to earn his undergraduate degree at UW Madison and his Juris Doctor to practice law at Tulsa University College of Law. He practiced law up until his illness. In 1966 he met Patt at Shakey's restaurant in Kenosha. 4 years later they were married and became parents to 4 children. Richard always loved the theatre, music and reading. He loved being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren who adored him. Richard will be remembered for his constant curiosity of life and his genuine interest in anyone he came across. He will be missed dearly.
