He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Gibson and Faye (Donis Watts Sr.); his in-laws, Betty and Joseph Godar; his brothers, Roger and Skip; and his brother-in-law Stephen Godar.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Godar; his children, Bruce, Russell Jr., Heather and Tiffany; his stepdaughters, Rebekah and Kristen; his siblings, Donis Jr., William and Peggy; and his siblings-in-law, Michael and Jeanne. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
