She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Cooks (Sonya), Rickey Cooks, Jewel Cooks, Calvin Cooks, James Cooks, Elmira Handford, Velvert Cooks, Betty Platt (Ernest), Ruthie Cooks, Carolyn Cooks and Kim Cooks; her daughter-in-law Sylvia Cooks; her sisters, Caliner Love and Hattie Johnson; her grandchildren, Frankie, Johnathan and Darius Cooks; and her nephews, Tommy Gordon, Walter Hargrove and Parnell Johnson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ebenezer Baptist Church (3109 Gilead Ave, Zion, IL 60099). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
