He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lia and Rosa Lia (Castignina); and his sisters, Mary Lia, Rose Kelly, Dorothy Littner and Sue Tankersley.

He is survived by: his son Michael Lia (Colleen); and his brother-in-law Joseph Kelly. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
