He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schoofs and Catherine Schoofs; his daughter Catherine Schoofs; his grandson Matthew Schoofs; and his siblings, Ted Schoofs, Joseph Schoofs, Apollonia Retzer, Dick Schoofs, Francis Schoofs, Lucille Nigh, Catherine Vitrano, Anna Nigh, Ralph Schoofs and Dorothy Volm.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Beisbier of Martin's Catholic Church; his children, Thomas Schoofs (Lori), James Schoofs (Jennifer), Mary Steinhardt (Mark), Richard Schoofs (Mary), Judith Ritger (John), Donna Seefeldt (Steven) and Debra Keller (Brian); and his grandchildren, Amanda, Noah, Elisabeth, Katharine, Chad, Ben, Nick, Hope, Paige, Lauren, Tyler, Samantha, Kayla, Josh, Jocelyn, Jonelle, Jared, Adam, Bryana and Jake. He is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
