He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bruening and Ann Marie Bruening (Thompson); and his brother Ronald (Darlene). He is survived by: his children, Lisa Schmidt (Brian), Don Jr. Bruening (Colleen) and Jeff Bruening (Vered); his grandchildren, Thomas Schmidt (Heather), Eric Schmidt (Meg), Elizabeth Bruening, Travis Bruening (Abby), Kimberly Swanson (Shawn), Anna Boor (Tyler) and Jocelyn Ledin-Bruening (Sean); his great grandchildren, Emma, Charlotte, Clara, Seth, Ellie, Willa, Henry, Bryson, Vince and Audrey; his sisters, Mariann Shefchik (John) and Lynn Wochos (Bob); and his aunt Joan Karl. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
