He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Schmidbauer and Marie Schmidbauer (Groh); his former wife Laurel "Lollie" Coates; his sisters, Patricia Pepitone (Joe) and Anna Mae Nack (Donald); and his sisters-in-law, Jackie Schmidbauer and Donna Alexander (Jack).
He is survived by: his wife Pat (Kraus); his children, Brook Burling (Eric) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Greg Schmidbauer (Lisa Welch) of Summerfield, FL.; his brother Alan Schmidbauer of Hales Corner, WI.; his sister-in-law Betty DeRuyter of Sheboygan, WI.; his children, Lynn Kulow (Randy) of Plymouth and Randy Krebsbach (Nan Krebsbach) of Fond du Lac; his brothers-in-law, Michael Mann, Neal Schwantes and Gerry DeRutyer; MaeAnn Hopeman (Warren) and Carol Felten (James). He is also survived by Step great grandchildren also survive him, and loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (94 Lincoln St, Elkhart Lake, WI 53020). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be established for Rocky Knoll and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their loving care of George.
