He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Beattie and Bessie Beattie. He is survived by: his former wife Anita Pennings; his wife Carol (Brown-Young); his children, Mike Young (Chris), Kim Gabel (Ed), Julie Berg (Corey), Becky Hothlesberger-Young (John), Jan Gensler (Arlie), Joe Young (Debbie), Jackie Lekfield, Duane "Dewey" Young and Jason Beattie; his son-in-law Gary Akerland; his sisters, Betty Jane Lute and Connie Bentley (Dave); his siblings-in-law, Denka Guyette, Nancy Allen, Patti Brown and David Brown; his grandchildren, Michelle, Mike Jr., Melissa, Michel, Alisha (Beanie), Richard, Jessie, Abby, Jennifer, Chuck, Beth, Melinda, Amanda, Amy, Emily, Joshua, Olivia, Jamie, Graham, Hannah, Gavin and Rikki; his children, Judy (Young-Akerland) and Kevin Beattie; and his grandson Evon Young. He is also survived by 33 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mosquito Hill Cemetery.
