He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorin Alva and Emma "Swen" Gasterland. He is survived by: his wife Rita Gasterland; his children, Dirk Gasterland (Wendy) and Jennifer VandenBrink (Eric); his siblings, Jan Gasterland (Lynne), Hans Gasterland (Barb) and Gretchen Gilbertson; and his grandchildren, Sara Braam (John), Brianna Gasterland, Rachel Munger (Corbin), Jacob Gasterland (Emma), Gabrielle VandenBrink, Chantry Coffield and Asher Coffield.
