We announce the death of Donald W. Volden of La Crosse, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 96. Donald will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Volden and Lucine Volden (Wrobel); his wife Shirley M. Mattson; his son Michael; and his brothers, Lucern and Jim.
He is survived by: his son Darren Volden; his daughter-in-law Nancy Chambers Volden; and his grandchildren, Steven Volden (Lynne) of Maricopa, AZ, Jenna Volden (Justin) of Tolleson, AZ, Joe Volden (Amanda) of Greeley, CO, Jeremy Volden (Pam) of Big Bend, WI and Jon Volden (Pam) of Oceanside, CA. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church (1602 Park Ave, La Crosse, WI 54601). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church (1602 Park Ave, La Crosse, WI 54601).
