He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Dewey Harrell and Gertrude Harrell (Shust). He is survived by: his close friends, Harold, Leroy and Dick; his wife Carol; his daughters, Leslie Svendsen (Dale), Liz Jacobson (Dave), Amy Thornton (Mike) and Katie Ulrich Harrell (John Clifford Myers); his grandchildren, Joseph Svendsen (Jillian), David Svendsen, Lydia Svenulski (Josh), Hunter Lange (Megan), Ava Leadholm (Tyler), Calvin Thornton, Benjamin Thornton (April), Olivia Felland, Max Felland and Lucy Felland; his great grandchildren, Henry, Augustus Svendsen, Freya Svenulski, Roman Lange, Xander Thornton and Brooks Thornton; his siblings, Betty Dever and Gilbert Harrell (Susie); his sisters-in-law, Nadine Johnson and Kathy Paul; Mary, Crissy, Nikki, Jennie, Emily, Jeanette and Dalton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (1407 Main St, La Crosse, WI 54601). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family requests gifts to The Salvation Army, Faith Lutheran Church, or the Harrell-Thornton Family Scholarship fund at Western Technical College.
