He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Phillips and Agatha Phillips (Fox); and his brother Phillip. He is survived by: his son-in-law Bill; his wife Carole Schneider Phillips; his daughters, Carrie Buchda (Tony), Elaine Phillips Petersen (Bill), Amanda Elliott (Mike) and Sarah McIlvaine (Harry); his grandchildren, Sophia Buchda, Bryn Rouse, Emma Odiet (Ali-Al Abad), Cullen Rouse and Cricket "Rosemary" Stanley; his stepsister Ann Marie Phillips; and his pet Poppy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Coulee Region Humane Society or the La Crosse Public Library.
