John A. Bast Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John A. Bast of La Crosse, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 23, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bast and Martha Bast of Watertown, Wisconsin.; his son-in-law George Howe; his sisters, Ethel Schumann (Bast) and Carol Fischer (Bast); and his brothers-in-law, John Schumann and David Fischer.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Sommerfield; his children, Chris Bast, Neil Bast and Cheryl Howe (Bast); and his grandchildren, Ryan Howe and Rachel Miller (Graham).
Jack maintained involvement with UW-La Crosse sports and served on the Foundation's Board of Directors.
