John H. Monson Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on March 14, 2023, at the age of 97, John H. Monson of La Crosse, Wisconsin, born in Whitehall, Wisconsin passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Melford Monson and Edna Monson (Larson); his wife Ruth Hjelmeland; and his siblings, Gordon and Odny (Fred Reckling).
He is survived by: his children, Kristine Wilkie (Paul), Martha Lowe (George) and Thomas (Ann); his grandchildren, Jordan (Kelly), Leah Rikkers (Ross), Aaron and Abbey Jevne (Mycole); his children, Michelle Klisanich (Michael), Laura Vanden Heuval (Tony) and Ahmed Khalili (Oruba); his sister-in-law Amy Monson; Palestine. He is also survived by his children, spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
Memorials may be given to the John and Ruth Monson Scholarship Fund at St. Olaf College, the La Crosse Area Synod-- John and Ruth Monson Middle East Educational Fund, or English Lutheran Church.
