He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Thurk and Rose Thurk (Oechsner); his siblings, Charlie, Mike, George, Rosemary and Clarice; and his granddaughter Sara.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia M. Schabel; his children, Gary Thurk (Kim), Tom Thurk (Karla), Sherry Hougom (Randy Peterson) and Todd Baldwin (Lois); his sister Kate Quinn; his grandchildren, Ben, Jessica, Kayla, Emily, Kylie, Tim, Dylan, Kendon, Brooke and Brittany; and his great grandchild Ledger John.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sara Rose Hougom Foundation, American Legion Post 116 Coon Valley or St. Joseph Ridge Parish.
