With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karin M. McLain of La Crosse, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 22, 2024 at the age of 56. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lichtie, and Alice Lichtie, Jr. (Reichert); and her brother Kevin Lichtie. She is survived by: her husband Jim; her children, Jarred McLain (Sara) and Jennifer McLain; her siblings, Michael Lichtie (Terri) and Michelle Arnett; her sisters-in-law, Donna McLain and JoAnn Rybold; and her close friends, Sandra Devine and Timothy Soller (Lisa).

“Karin was a dear and personable person. I first met Karin when she came in as a summer temp at DMV on Ward Ave many years ago. I retired in 1989 but Karin became a permanent employee as a driver license examiner, retiring in 2023. It came as a huge surprise when we ended up as neighbors living across the street from each other on Glendale Ave. We became good friends and enjoyed talking with each other. I will miss her. Lorraine Sokolik”
