He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Gerke and Elizabeth Gerke (Roesler); his son Dennis; his brothers, Alfred Gerke (Ann), Gene Gerke, Don Gerke (Barb) and Alvin Gerke, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Richard Roth.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie; his children, Kat Ransom (Clifton), Joan Padgett (Ernie), Sue Storandt (Carl) and Dan Gerke (Julie); his grandchildren, Al Storandt (Katie), Josh Storandt (Kathy) and Chris Gerke (Amy); his siblings, Malinda Gerke, Elizabeth Roth, Donna Cuta (Paul), Jim Gerke (Darlene), Paul Gerke (Sally), Mary Ellen Clements (Dave), Greg Gerke (Pat) and Mary Lu Gerke; and his sister-in-law Betty Gerke. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of the donor's choice.
