He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Lewis and Gertrude Lewis (Peterson); his brothers, Carl and Caryl Lewis; his wife Ruth; and his daughter Diane Houzenga.
He is survived by: his children, John Lewis (Heidi) of Sarasota, FL, Janet Renkes (Rolland) of Morrison, IL and Julie Sykes (Terry) of DeSoto, WI; his grandchildren, Matthew Lewis (Holly), Kristina Pellegrino (Cris), Lewie Renkes, Mitch Renkes (Patti), Tara Jambois (Luke), Skip Sykes (Tiana), Jason Houzenga (Anita) and Cheryl Olson; and his great grandchildren, Erika, Taylor, Jacob, Collin, Caitlin Renkes, Tristin Olson, Sierra Houzenga, Luke, Ava, Amedi Jambois, Takoda Sykes, Lucy, Dylan Pellegrino and Miller.
