McElwee, Michael R. PhD.
Born December 30, 1939 and died January 1, 2023. Beloved husband of Margaret "Peg" for 49 years. Loving dad of Rev. Michael McElwee of La Crosse, WI, Dr. Matthew (Dr. Theresa Sexton) McElwee of Albuquerque, NM, and Megan (Dr. Joshua) Nelson of Portland, OR. Beloved grandpa of Lily and Samuel Nelson. Brother of the late Gregory (Donna) McElwee. Uncle of Mary McElwee and Maureen Jens. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was a graduate of UWM and Michigan State University, where he received his doctorate. He loved education and was very proud to serve the public schools in both Milwaukee and Whitefish Bay as an administrator. He was a diehard Packer and Spartan fan, and Ice Bowl survivor.
Visitation will be Friday January 6, 2023 at St. James Catholic Church, W220 N6588 Town Line Rd. in Menomonee Falls, from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 11am. Private burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hales Corners, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul would be greatly appreciated.
