He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilary Schoen and Faye Schoen; his brothers, Bruce and Jeffrey; and his siblings-in-law, Toni Schoen and Donald Ruud.
He is survived by: his adoptive sons, Andy Gautsch (Justina) and Nathaniel Turner; his sisters, Donna Ruud, Mary Jo Suhr (Jeff), Rita Shufelt and Rachel Oestreich (Troy); and his nieces and nephews, Shana Ruud, Shawn Ruud, Adam Suhr (Haley), Heather Schumacher (Jimmy), Amanda Domenget, Daniel Domenget (Jessica), Alex Shufelt, Ashley Shufelt, Alyssa Shufelt, Tyler Oestreich and Avrey Oestreich.
