He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Midtlien and Aletha Midtlien; his siblings-in-law, Ria Midtlien and Birger Eklov; and his stepgranddaughter Payton Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Priscilla; his children, Craig Midtlien (Sandra) and Camilla; his grandchildren, Kayrene Midtlien (Andrew), Kamden Midtlien (Roslyn) and Brooke Midtlien; his stepgranddaughter Taylor Thompson; and his siblings, Orin Midtlien and Phyllis Eklov. He is also survived by many nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (4141 Mormon Coulee Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, La Crosse.
