He is survived by: his wife Torrey Alexander Ostrem; his children, Trina Schlifer (Greg), Tracy Doyle (Eric), Heather Lyons (Hugh Willard), Jared Ostrem, Derek Ostrem (Stephanie), Tyler Ostrem (Jhoti) and Kjerstin Dellenbach (Joey); his stepsons, Alexander Heuer and Paul Heuer; his grandchildren, Andrew Schlifer (Abilene), Adam Schlifer (Tia), Ben Findlay (Jamie), Hannah Pleiman (Nick), Noah Lyons, Grace Lyons, Aidan Lyons, Syven Ostrem, Ryver Ostrem, Leighton Dellenbach, Preston Dellenbach and Beckham Dellenbach; his stepgrandchildren, Oliver Heuer and Vivienne Heuer; his great grandchildren, Ella Goodwin-Schlifer, Emersyn Schlifer, Eva Schlifer, Ellyanna Schlifer, Harper Schlifer, Harrison Schlifer, Elliot Pleiman, Petra Pleiman and Juno Pleiman; and his sister-in-law Carol Plumb.
His commitment to fairness, integrity, and excellence earned him induction into the Wisconsin Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008 for his outstanding contributions to officiating.
