He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hegenbart and Doris Hegenbart (Dolan); his wife Sharon Lind; his children, Alan and Pam; and his brother Vernal.

He is survived by: his sons, Scott (Lisa) and Terry (Lori Ann Bendel); his grandchildren, Justin Hegenbart, Mark Hegenbart, Nick Venske, Dallas Marshall and Aaron Hegenbart; his sister Susan Larson (Terry); and his daughter-in-law Lynn Brown Hegenbart. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
