She was predeceased by: her husband Jene Bendel; her parent Margaret Gobel Gates; and her parents-in-law, Alyce Ekholm-Bendel, Joseph and Ada Bendel.

She is survived by: her son Kurt (Denise); her grandchildren, Jared (Lauren) and Elyse (Diane); her great grandchildren, Ava, Brodie, Gibson and Avery; her son Garrett (Gwen); her grandchildren, Joshua (Laura), Bridgett Dresen (Michael) and Seth (Abigail Linberg); her great grandchildren, Alyson, Joseph, Liam, Caden, Zander and Liliana; her children, Garth (Sheila) and Sara Stankiewicz; and her grandchildren, Nicole Sjuggerud (Nick Bowman) and Cheyenne Helgerson (Jacob).

Memorials may be sent to Catholic Charities of La Crosse, the Ettrick Rod & Gun Club Youth Days, or a charity of one's own choosing.
