It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Earl Johnson of La Crosse, Wisconsin, who passed away on July 11, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Walter Earl Johnson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his sister Audrey (Ralph); and his grandson Jonathan. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Niemeyer; his daughters, Sue Darelius (Doug), Nancy Halverson (Mark), Wendy Larson, Katy Matzke (Dean) and Amy Johnson-Pierce (Tim); his siblings, Nels, Joan and Mary; and his siblings-in-law, Fred, Jr., Ron, Claudia and Judy. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, the La Crosse Public Library, Luther High School of Onalaska, or Charity of choice.
