He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert J. Eckstein and Minnie Eckstein (Nelson); his former life partners, Roberta Blank and Roberta Eckstein; his siblings, Virginia Mathison, Nina Immel and Kenneth Eckstein; and his stepdaughter Nancy Zieman.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara Eckstein; his sons, Terry Eckstein (Susan) of Menasha and Jeffrey Eckstein (Jan) of Havana, Florida; his brother Lawrence Eckstein of Allenville; his stepchildren, John Luedtke, Dean Luedtke (Mary Ann) and Gina Crispell (Jeff); and his stepson-in-law Richard Zieman. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
