He was predeceased by: his parents, William Groll and Barbara Van Groll (Coenen); and his siblings, Norb (Dennis Van Groll), LaVerne Squier and Al Schumacker.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Szymanski; his children, Ben Van Groll (Katie), Rob Van Groll (Melissa Hackl) and Barbara Gonnering (Glen); his stepdaughter Kat VandenHeuvel (Yates); his grandchildren, Kiara, Brady, Emma Van Groll, Lauren, Hannah, Mason Gonnering, Luke and Jack VandenHeuvel; his siblings, Roger Van Groll (Beth) and Janice Schumacker; and his siblings-in-law, Wally Squier, LeaAnn Van Groll, Sandy Verhagen (Gene), Joe Lettau (Connie) and Mike Lettau. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church (411 Vandenbroek St, Little Chute, WI 54140).
