He was predeceased by: his father Martin Hogen; his wife Eunice Heimmermann; his stepfather Leonard DeWitt; his siblings, Joe Vanden Hogen (Ruth), Wilma Van Hammond (Clarence), Clarence Vanden Hogen, Theresa Buchberger (Doug) and Julie DeValk (Lyle); his parents-in-law, Joseph and Genevieve Heimmermann; and his siblings-in-law, Joseph Heimmermann (Myrtle), Georgine Gengler (Lawrence), Germaine Van Boxtel, Carlton Heimmermann (Lucy) and David Heimmermann (Ruby).
He is survived by: his mother Catherine Vanden Hogen (Verkuilen); his children, Paula Slater (Doug), Bruce Vanden Hogen, Robert Vanden Hogen (Kathy) and Mike Vanden Hogen (Jenn); his grandchildren, Elizabeth DeBruin (Troy), Meghan DeWitt (Joshua), Emily Richards (Ben), Matthew Vanden Hogen (Brooke), Natalee Vanden Hogen (Bailey Laux) and Leah Vanden Hogen; his great grandchildren, Chase, Jackson DeWitt, Karleigh and Cameron DeBruin; and his brother-in-law Dan Van Boxtel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
